Behind any mission, there is a question we almost never ask ourselves: what is, in reality, what sustains the gesture of going out to meet the other. We will discuss that question with Fr. Cristóbal Fones, SJ, in the webinar "The Way of the Heart: a mission of compassion," with which the Theological Center of Celam, Cebitepal, inaugurates its new training cycle.
A journey of conversion
The Way of the Heart is the journey of conversion of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network: a process that does not remain in reflection, but pushes towards a life with more compassion, more availability, and more commitment to evangelization.
The proposal of this meeting is to delve into how this spirituality helps cultivate a contemplative gaze, capable of reading what happens around us and responding, from the love of Christ and not from urgency, to the challenges the world faces today.
Who will accompany us?
Father Cristóbal Fones, SJ, is a Chilean Jesuit and international director of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network since January 2025. He trained in sacramental and liturgical theology, accompanied young people in their spiritual lives for years, and has simultaneously held a profession as a musician. The meeting is moderated by Paola Calderón.
This webinar is just the door: with it, Cebitepal inaugurates a new cycle of training proposals and raises a fundamental invitation: to continue thinking and living the mission of the Church in the moment we are in.
Who is this meeting for?
This meeting is for pastoral agents, religious communities, prayer groups, and for anyone who wants to care for their inner life without turning their back on the world. It does require, however, a willingness to be moved.
